As far as my Falcon story goes: I was given my 61 Falcon by my Uncle back in 1986. He bought it brand new on October 1960. I have all the original sales receipts and other paper work that was given to me. I practically grew up in this car as I use to spend many summers going on fishing trips to Long Island for many years. In 1964 we took a ride to Niagra Falls for that summer vacation. This would be the longest trip ever made in the Falcon. The Falcon was always garaged and only had 59,000 miles on it when he sold it to me for $1. I drove it up from Queens N.Y. all the way upstate – in Saugerties- about a 2-hour ride. It struggled but made it into my Garage where I parked it for 35 years. A growing family put a bit of a pause on my attempt to get her running again. Fortunately a good friend of mine was able to do that work for me in his shop. That was on March 10 2021 when it was towed there. A month later she was alive again. The original 170 didnt survive as it was frozen solid from sitting all those years. So a replacement motor was decided to be put in so I would be able to drive it once again. Think its a 200-6cylinder-possibly a 67. I still have the original motor in my garage. But new tires brakes and hoses, new gas tank and suspension parts all replaced. Everything else is all original. No restoration work on the interior and the body is -as is-with the original paint. I show it this way in car shows – unrestored.
