I have only owned three Falcon’s but probably close to a hundred different cars and motorcycles overall. My first was a ’65 Sprint that I drag raced and did very well. Much later a ’60 two door that ended up a five year project to convert it into a Pro-Street car. It could run mid 8’s without much trouble. This latest is a ’63 two door with a warmed up 302 and a C4. I just sold my front engine dragster and my LSR car (Dec 2024) and was looking for something to keep me interested. At 76 I have shaken off most of the need for speed and so the ’63 is perfect. I attended several local shows and really enjoyed it.
It’s a 63 two door sedan. It was painted metallic green when I bought it. I upgraded the rear by narrowing the 8 inch by three inches over all and changed the gearing to 3.55 posi. Moser axles connect the wheels. That was done mostly because it was jacked up really high in the back to clear the tires. From experience I know the 8 inch will hold at least 400 HP and I am not looking for more than that now. I kept the bench seat.
The engine is from an ’85 Mustang and warmed up a little. I just completed the tri-power install and removed a 600 Holley and high riser. The distributor is an MSD with a 7AL-3 box. The trans is a C4 with a B&M kit and shifter. The radiator was plugged when I got the car and so I put in an aluminum four core. I have owned the car for just one year at the end of last month (Nov 24). It is my third Falcon.
