2008 Making the Trophies

Here is the hand made walnut “BEST of SHOW” Keystone clock award.

Three awards were made for 2008, 2010, and 2012. 
After the FCA changed their “Best of Show” mandatory award to
“Best Stock” and “Best Modified” the 2012 award was needed in 2010.

Here is the fixture used to cut the outside trim on the Keystone Clock.

All Three walnut awards in raw state.

Gluing and clamping the two tone trim to the award.
The two tone trim is made from walnut and poplar.

 Cutting the right side of the larger bottom plaque.

 Cutting the right side of the smaller metal plaque.

Cutting the left side of the smaller upper plaque.

Plaques cut and ready to attach to the wooden Keystone plaques.

Fixture for aligning the metal plaques on the black wooden plaques.
Note the small pencil marks at the bottom for aligning the bottom plaque.

Marked masking tape is used to align the upper plaque to the bottom plaque.
